This week on The O/S/T Party, we're jumping through a portal into another dimension to walk some dinosaurs and discuss the soundtrack to 1993's SUPER MARIO BROS! It's a film that pushes viewers to the breakpoint and offers so much off-the-wall creativity, it's almost unreal.
Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, an Englishman and a Colombian, play Italian brothers chasing a kidnapped princess into a dimension where an industrialist dinosaur-man played by Dennis Hopper rules his city with an iron fist. All of this is somehow based on a video game.
As for the soundtrack we've got a would-be hit single from Roxette, random cuts from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Joe Satriani and Queen, and George Clinton delivers the grandest, goofiest cover of "Walk The Dinosaur" you'll ever need. There's some big, beautiful weirdness in this soundtrack—and the movie as a whole—and we'll get into all of it!
