On this episode, we're digging into Walter Hill's 1984 rock n' roll fable STREETS OF FIRE! It's a musical with numbers that can level entire city blocks. It's an aggressively '80s take on motorcycle gangs of the '50s. It's a wannabe western starring a stoic hero with a duster and a Winchester. It's all of these things and so much more.
Michael Paré is Tom Cody, a drifter hired to rescue his ex-girlfriend, rock singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from the clutches of Willem Dafoe's Raven and his Bomber gang. The soundtrack features cuts from The Fixx and The Blasters, as well as songs written by Jim Steinman, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks.
It's a classic rock spectacle the likes of which we've never seen and perhaps will never see again. Come join us on this journey through a comic book vision of the 1950s that never was...
