Between 1999 and 2001, Smash Mouth's "All Star" was a truly inescapable earworm, making appearances in no less than FIVE FEATURE FILMS! This week's O/S/T Party is dedicated to exploring this dark period in music history. But fret not, because for every villain there must be a hero. A savior waits in the wings to deliver us from Mr. Mouth and his gang of bowling shirts. That hero is none other than Tom Waits, whose story is intertwined with Smash Mouth for better or for worse!
More to the point, yes, we discuss Shrek at length, but we dedicate equal time to Mystery Men, Rat Race, and all the internet memes that popped up in Smash Mouth's wake. Strap yourselves in, gang, because this is gonna be one wild ride...
