We're gonna have an O/S/T Party tonight, alright? Alright!
This week, we are joined by Niel Jacoby, cohost of the podcast Spall Talk, to discuss the soundtrack to Alex Cox's 1984 punk rock sci-fi opus REPO MAN!
Repo Man is a deeply strange film about punks repossessing cars, government conspiracies, alien life forms, and the soul-crushing nihilism of Reagan-era Los Angeles. On top of that, it's a film that wears its punk rock influence on its sleeve. With a theme song by Iggy Pop, and featuring 80s punk mainstays like Black Flag, Fear, and Suicidal Tendencies, this soundtrack is a crash course in the LA punk scene in the mid-80s. Thrash, hardcore, surf rock, new wave, etc. Repo Man has a little something for everyone.
